Objectives: The student will be able to identify the order of a polynomial. The student will be able to graph 2nd and 3rd order polynomial equations using a graphing calculator.
Notice these contain good action verbs and can be written as test questions.
The slope can be found using y=mx+b or by using two ordered pairs from the line. Both will be objectives in an algebra course. Also students will need to interpret slope and use it to measure of a rate of change.
The vertex can be found using the graphing calculator and using x=-b/2a then plugging in to find y.
- The students will be able to solve a system of equations by graphing and to determine if the system has one solution, no solution or infinite number of solutions
- The students will be able to solve a system of equation using substitution
- The students will be able to solve a system of equations using linear combination

ReplyDeleteThe students will find teh vertex of a quadratic equation.
Our (Jim, Chris, Nadeen and myself) topic:
ReplyDeleteLinear Functions:
The students will determine the slope of a linear function.
Thanks. Here are some notes about these.
